Wellsville dominated from start to finish in a decisive 22–0 victory over East Rochester in the Sectional Quarterfinals, ending the game early in five innings.
Kennedy Perry led the way in the circle with a dominant performance, striking out 13 batters while allowing just one hit and no walks. She was backed up behind the plate by Hannah Bennett.
Offensively, Wellsville’s lineup was relentless, racking up hits throughout the order. Kennedy Perry helped her own cause with three hits, including a double, and two RBIs. Lydia Brockway and Hailey Cowburn each collected three hits, with Brockway driving in three runs and Cowburn adding two RBIs and a double. Teagan Burke contributed two hits, including a triple, and drove in two runs.
Brynn Hallock added a key double and three RBIs, while Hannah Bennett chipped in a hit and two RBIs. Additional contributions came from Ayla Faulkner (two hits), Tayler Palmatier (two hits), and Peyton Cawley (one hit), as Wellsville totaled an impressive offensive output.
East Rochester’s lone hit came from Kierra Flores, who also pitched 2.1 innings. Annie Fisher worked the remaining 2.2 innings in relief.
With the win, Wellsville advances to the Sectional Semifinals, where they will face Le Roy on Tuesday, May 26.
