Ryker and family have been giving it their all to go on an exclusive wildlife adventure with Jeff Corwin and appear in Ranger Rick magazine!!

Kids who love nature have enjoyed the tales and lessons of Ranger Rick Magazine for decades. Jeff Corwin has been inspiring kids for many years with various adventure TV shows and Internet platforms. Both have had an impact on Ryker’s adventurous spirit and love for animals.

Recently Ryker threw his hat into a contest in Ranger Rick Magazine that will put him on TV with Jeff Corwin!! The contest is national with lots of kids who love nature just as much hoping to win. Voting is online only and voting this week is very important to get Ryker into the next round of competition! Voting is free but you can give an extra boost with a donation to the National Wildlife Federation

We had the chance to interview Ryker about his love of the great outdoors, some of this forest friends, and favorite places.

Most of us remember Ranger Rick when we were kids!!  When did you start following Ranger Rick ?

Ryker: I’ve read the magazines since i was three, I’m ten now so… seven years!

Tell us about your favorite wild animal and your favorite wild place!?!

Ryker: My favorite animal is a hamster and my favorite wild place is the ocean.

 We hear you are out in the woods all the time with the Maple Moon Farm family. What fun stuff have you learned from your adventures with Mrs. Jackson’s crew ?

Ryker: We have learned to tie knots, learned about native americans and how to dig leaks

Do you think you’d like to work someday in the nature field?  What would be your dream job ?

Ryker: Yes! My dream job would to be either a scuba diver to interact with the fish or to be a pilot.

Last, tell our readers why they should vote for you before the Thursday 9pm? 

Ryker: Because I love wildlife I am taking responsibility into my hands by taking care of baby chickens. Me and my family are growing gardens and putting wildlife like worms, slugs, snails and crickets into them.
