Wojciechowski named Valedictorian, Joy is Salutatorian
Cuba-Rushford – Valedictorian Joseph Wojciechowski
Cuba-Rushford is proud to recognize 2026 Valedictorian Joseph Wojciechowski for his outstanding academic achievements and dedication to his school and community.

Joseph graduates with an exceptional weighted GPA of 99.95 and has been actively involved in many aspects of student life throughout his high school career. He has participated in Cross Country and Track & Field since 7th grade, served on Student Council all four years, and has been a class officer since 11th grade. Joseph has also been involved in FFA since 10th grade, as well as Chorus and Pop Group. Earlier in high school, he performed in Band and Jazz Band until 10th grade, and he has contributed to the school’s drama productions through the pit and stage crew. In addition, Joseph is a member of the National Honor Society and volunteers outside of school by helping with the men’s ministry at his church.
After graduation, Joseph plans to attend Roberts Wesleyan University, where he will pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics, possibly with a minor in Global Studies through the honors program. He hopes to continue his education at the Rochester Institute of Technology, where he plans to earn a Master’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering.
Joseph resides with his father and stepmother, Adam and Libby Wojciechowski, and is the son of Jeanne Wallace. One lesson that has stayed with him throughout his academic journey came from Mr. Wild in 8th grade: to always be yourself, enjoy life, and not worry about what others think. He also draws inspiration from his favorite Bible verses, 2 Timothy 4:7 and 1 Corinthians 10:31.
Cuba-Rushford congratulates Joseph on his remarkable accomplishments and wishes him the very best as he pursues his future goals.
Cuba-Rushford Salutatorian – Peyton Joy
Peyton Joy, the son of Megan Torpey, has been named Cuba-Rushford 2026 Salutatorian. He graduates with an exceptional weighted GPA of 99.67, reflecting his commitment to academic excellence and his determination to succeed at the highest level.
A dedicated and well-rounded student, Peyton has made his mark both in the classroom and through his extracurricular involvement. He has been an active member of FFA and the Cuba-Rushford Fish and Wildlife program, and he earned first place in Envirothon at the county level—an achievement that highlights his knowledge, teamwork, and passion for environmental science.
Peyton is also an accomplished athlete, excelling in both basketball and golf. His love for basketball extends beyond the school season, as he has competed in AAU basketball and participated in a World Championship Tournament. He has also demonstrated leadership off the court by coaching youth PTO basketball, giving back to younger athletes in his community.

His athletic accomplishments are numerous. Peyton has been selected to participate in the Big 30 NY vs. PA All-Star Game and the Allegany vs. Steuben All-Star Showcase. He was named an Allegany County Division 1 First Team All-Star, earned All-Tournament Team honors at the ACE Memorial Tournament, and received a Big 30 nomination for basketball.
In the fall, Peyton will attend St. Bonaventure University, where he plans to pursue a degree in business while continuing to explore his future goals and interests.
Peyton credits his success to a mindset shaped by one of his favorite quotes from NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo: “There is no failure — just steps to success.” He carries this perspective with him as he looks ahead to new challenges and opportunities.
The district congratulates Peyton on his outstanding achievements and wishes him continued success in all his future endeavors.
