A annual event that began in 2011 has announced the are not continuing the event this year. The Willing Fall Festival was held on the grounds of the Yorks Corners Mennonite Church offering a free family event that was a southern Allegany County tradition.
This morning the festival made this announcement on social media:
“For your information: The Willing Fall Harvest Festival will not be happening this September. Hopefully it will return in the future. Thank you to everyone that was a part of the festival for 11 years. It’s been a fun time.”
One of the festivals biggest fans and familiar name on the Sun is Bob Confer who was disappointed but offered gratitude for memories:
“Thank you for 11 years of great memories. We loved the event and appreciated all the hard work — and love — the volunteers and vendors put into it.
Event co-founder Marshall Green lamented the end of a great family tradition:
“It was awesome to be part of something that blessed our community and put smiles on thousands of kids faces! I would like to also thank the hundreds of volunteers over the years that helped make this festival possible.”
