Allegany County legislators held their annual Christmas party on December 3 at the Wellsville Country Club, turning the evening into more than just celebration by collecting and donating roughly $500 in gift cards to the Allegany County Ismailia Shriners.
Guests brought gift cards to “fill-a-fez,” and the entire amount was given to the Shriners to help children served by Shriners Hospitals for Children. The network of 22 specialized hospitals provides free, expert care for burns, orthopedic conditions, spinal cord injuries, cleft lip and palate, and other complex medical needs, regardless of a family’s ability to pay.
The donation will bring extra holiday cheer and practical support to patients and families connected to the local Ismailia Shriners chapter.
The Ismailia Shriners extended heartfelt thanks to the legislators and everyone who contributed, noting that the generous gift will make a real difference in the lives of the children and families they serve.
One small party, one big difference—another reminder that the holiday spirit is strong in Allegany County.
