Angelica Post Office “Angel” to take flight December 5

Annual postmark celebration features Pat Kaake design

From the Angel Station,

This year will be the 29th offering of the Angel Station cancellation at the Angelica Post Office. The ceremonial debut of the Booster Citizens-sponsored postmark (image from the design archive of the late Pat Kaake) is Friday, December 5. The first “Angel” arrived Dec. 10, 1997.

Greeting cards may be mailed to the office or dropped off prior to Dec. 5, addressed appropriately and intended for mailing on that date. Please separate i-town and out-of-town mail. Postal employees will be in the lobby to hand-cancel pieces brought in by customers that day. Light refreshments again will be offered.

In addition, the Post Office will accept all mail to be postmarked with the Angelica cancellation from Dec. 5 through Wednesday, December 24. Window hours are (M-F) 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 12:30-3:30 p.m.; (Sat.) 10 a.m.-12 Noon.

All mail requesting the Angel Station postmark that is received after Dec. 24 will be for collectors only, for 30 days. Please provide a return stamped envelope or your postmarked item w/stamp will be sent through the normal mail stream. For more information, please contact the Angelica Post Office at 585-466-7869.

The final count for the 2024 postmark was 10,589; the record total for the Angel is 11,707 in 2021.
