Joseph Mariotti is the Valedictorian, Sara McCormick earns Salutatorian

The honor of Wellsville Secondary School Valedictorian goes to Joseph Mariotti, the son of Joe and Kera Mariotti.  Joseph has earned this prestigious designation by accumulating a high school average of 99.41%.  Joseph’s academic record has kept him at the top of his class throughout his high school career and opened doors to many academic opportunities.  Some of his academic achievements include the President’s Award for Educational Excellence, the University of Rochester Xerox Award for Information and Technology, the NYS Regents Award for Educational Excellence, and Rotary Student of the Month.  Joseph is a two-year member of the Wellsville Chapter of the National Honor Society. In addition to his academic accomplishments, Joseph has been a vital member of the WSS Swim Team and WSS Track & Field.

Joseph plans to matriculate at Alfred State College to pursue a degree in Surveying & Geomatics.

The honor of Salutatorian has been earned by Sara McCormick.  Sara is the daughter of Paul and Tammy McCormick.  Sara has earned the title of Salutatorian by accruing an average of 99.19%.  Sara’s list of accomplishments includes the NYS Regents Award for Academic Excellence and the President’s Award for Educational Excellence, the University of Rochester Humanities & Social Sciences Award, and the DAR Good Citizen Award Winner.  Sara is a two-year member of the Wellsville Chapter of the National Honor Society.  Sara has been a vital member of the Wellsville Girls’ Swimming Team for four years.  Sara has also been active in Student Council, and Ski Club. 

Sara will be attending Gannon University majoring in Early Childhood Education.
