The Allegany county Bird Club (ACBC) recently celebrated its 60th anniversary. An informal gathering of bird enthusiasts in 1963 eventually lead to the formation of the Club in 1965 and the organzation is still going strong.
Meetings are held on the first Friday evening of each month (some holidays may move the meeting time to the second Friday) between March and December, at 6 P.M. at the Grace United Church in Wellsville. In addition to speakers on topics related to birds and other wildlife, ACBC organizes outings to local birding hotspots and many members participate in annual bird counts to submit data to the Buffalo Ornithological Society, Audubon, and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.

For more information on ACBC, please contact Club President Debra Jakobi at (607)-281-4938 or debrajakobi@gmail.com.
