Wellsville, NY — Mark your calendar for Thursday, October 9th for an opportunity to meet Aaron Gies of Olean at the Wellsville Creative Arts Center 124 N. Main St., Wellsville, beginning at 6:30 p.m. The first hour will be a casual meet-and-greet format. Dr. Gies will address the group and take questions from 7:30 – 8:30 p.m.
This event is geared for Millennial and Gen Z voters and voters with no party affiliation, but Aaron welcomes any prospective voter, particularly those who will be meeting him for the first time.
Aaron Gies is a professor of Theology and Franciscan Studies at St. Bonaventure University. He also serves as board chair of a non-profit farm and helps out at his wife’s veterinary practice in Olean. He is running for the Democratic nomination to challenge current Representative Nick Langworthy for the US House of Representatives in NY District 23. His campaign is about delivering affordability, good jobs, housing and healthcare in Western New York and the Southern Tier. About his program of listening events, Aaron said: “I believe that real change comes from the bottom up, so it’s crucially important that we learn to talk to each other again with care, respect and accountability. These events are a great place to start.” He’s traveling the district to listen to our concerns and offer his vision for reclaiming the Common Good together.
