House Republican Leadership Chairwoman Elise Stefanik released the following statement:

“Hearts across America are heavy, broken, and outraged after today’s heinous assassination of Charlie Kirk.
We mourn the irreplaceable loss of Charlie as a vibrant, iconic, conservative titan. Our country knows Charlie as a loving father of two precious children and a dedicated husband with a huge heart and deep love for America. This passionate patriot inspired a generation of young Americans as he fearlessly and boldly promoted free speech, religious liberty, and morality. I first met Charlie over a decade ago at an event in the Midwest as he was beginning to build what would become TPUSA.
Such an extraordinarily impactful life, murderously cut short. Our deepest prayers and sympathy pours out to his wife Erika and their beautiful young children. May God Bless Charlie and may he rest in peace.”

Statement From NYS Democratic Committee Chairman Jay S. Jacobs on the Assassination of Charlie Kirk:

“The attack today on Charlie Kirk was an attack on every value that Americans hold dear. America is all about everyone’s right to say things others may disagree with and even not like to hear. This assassination of someone whose views I disagree with is about as un-American an act as can be perpetrated.

All Americans should pray for Charlie Kirk’s family as we all condemn this egregious act and any violence in our political process.”

Congressman Nick Langworthy said this shortly after Kirk’s death was announced:

“Please join me in praying for Charlie Kirk and his family.”

“Charlie Kirk was murdered for daring to speak the truth and defend freedom. He was a husband, a father, a follower of Jesus Christ, and a fearless American patriot.

“He fought relentlessly for a stronger America and never bowed to the forces of censorship or intimidation. His pride in our nation and his unwavering stand for free speech will never be forgotten.

“The extreme Left chose today not to fight a war of ideas — but to indulge their derangement through cold-blooded murder, seeking to silence his voice forever.

“Let me be clear: Charlie’s voice will never be silenced. His cause will only grow stronger, his fight will live on, and the movement he helped inspire will rise higher than ever.

“May God bless his beautiful family in this time of immense tragedy and loss.

“Rest in peace, Charlie Kirk.”

Allegany County Legislator Gretchen Hanchett: A Tragic Loss for Free Speech and Civic Courage

“Tonight, I join millions in mourning the hateful murder of Charlie Kirk—a bold voice for liberty, faith, and the power of political engagement. Charlie was shot and killed while speaking at Utah Valley University, doing what he believed in most: encouraging Americans to think freely, speak boldly, and stand for their values.

This is more than a tragedy. It’s a wake-up call.

We must ask ourselves: what have we come to when political disagreement turns into violence? When a man is silenced not by debate, but by a bullet?

Charlie believed that freedom was never guaranteed—it had to be defended. He lived that truth with conviction, and he paid the ultimate price for it.

To Erika and their children: my deepest condolences. May God grant you peace and strength in this unimaginable time.

Let us honor Charlie not with silence, but with courage. Let us speak truth, protect dialogue, and reject hate—wherever it tries to take root.”
