Alfred’s Got Talent is always a highlight of Homecoming weekend at Alfred State

ALFRED, NY, September 9, 2025 – Homecoming activities return to Alfred State in just a couple of weeks. Excitement is growing for the annual celebration that will take place September 18-21.

“We are looking forward to a great weekend full of events,” commented Homecoming Family Weekend Committee co-chair John Lewis. “Homecoming is earlier this year, and we are excited to have outdoor events on both Friday and Saturday evenings. The schedule features favorite events from the past mixed in with some new events.”

Homecoming activities will begin on Thursday with the annual Blue & Gold Dinner* (4:30 – 8 p.m.) in the Terrace. Evening activities include a sand volleyball tournament, a bonfire with s’mores, and a showing of the Buffalo Bills game vs. Miami.

Foodie Friday* (6:30 – 8:30 p.m.) and the annual Pep Rally kick things off on Friday evening. Foodie Friday will feature unique street foods, (starting at 7 p.m.), games, and a bonfire while the ASC cheerleading team will host a pep rally. The annual Alfred’s Got Talent event will be held starting at 9 p.m. in the Cappadonia Auditorium.

Morning and early afternoon events on Saturday include:

  • The Carly 5K (register) benefiting the Courage for Carly Fund will start at 10 Elm at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
  • The Disc Golf course will be available for use from 10:30 a.m. – Noon and from 1:30 – 3 p.m. (register).
  • The annual Baseball Alumni game (register) will start at 12:30 p.m.
  • The women’s soccer team will take on Thiel College at Pioneer Stadium starting at 1 p.m.

Lunch at the Terrace* featuring Music Trivia will be served from 11 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. (trivia will take place from Noon – 1:30 p.m.) while a Family Feud game show will take place in MacKenzie Commons from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m.

The countdown to kickoff of the Homecoming football game begins at 4 p.m. when the Tailgate Barbecue*, College Game Day show (stage outside Pioneer Stadium), the annual car show (register) sponsored by Perk’s Auto, The Old Mill Inn, and Van’s Alignment Services, and the Homecoming Basket Raffle all begin (Parking Lot 20 and 20A).

The football team kicks off vs. Buffalo State at 6 p.m. Admission to the game is free courtesy of AIMS Self Storage. At the game, fans over 21 can enjoy the End Zone Party.

A fireworks display will take place at approximately 9:15 p.m. Following the fireworks, a late-night movie will be shown in the Student Leadership Center Small Event Space at 10 p.m.

Once again, Homecoming visitors can sign up for a VIP Experience which includes special parking, dedicated seating, a drink at the End Zone Party, and a ticket to the Tailgate Barbecue.

The baseball reunion weekend concludes with a golf tournament at Twin Hickory Golf Course starting at 10 a.m. on Sunday (register).

Weekend activities on campus close out on Sunday with a family brunch* at the Central Dining Hall from 11 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Homecoming Family Weekend co-chair Sarah Francisco added, “We hope this weekend will be full of memories for our current students, their families, and our alumni. We are counting down the days and can’t wait to see people on campus.”
