If you come to Heritage Days in Angelica for the focus on local history, you are sure to enjoy this year’s program. Sponsored by the Angelica Booster Citizens, the festival takes place in the town square at the center of Park Circle National Historic District.

Angelica Schuyler Church, one of the most notable women of the Revolutionary era—sister-in-law of Alexander Hamilton and one of the ‘Schuyler Sisters’ in the Hamilton musical—is the subject of a newly-released biography by Molly Beer. She also is the namesake of Angelica, NY, where Beer will give an author-talk, followed by a book signing on Saturday morning, Aug. 2, 11 a.m. at the Angelica Free Library.

Also highlighting the Heritage Days weekend is an America250 exhibit in the Grange building on Park Circle, in anticipation of next year’s 250th anniversary of our nation’s birth. The display & program is put together by the Catherine Schuyler Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).

The croquet tournament on the unique “roque” court has been a highlight of Heritage Days since the event began in 1969. This year’s competition has 11 two-person teams competing for the championship. Semifinals are set for Saturday with the finals to take place Sunday afternoon.

In addition, the Heritage Days festival will feature:

Full lineup of live music in Park Circle bandstand // Self-guided audio walk/ride/drive thru Angelica’s auto history // Art-craft-antique market // Colonial Rooms open in Angelica Free Library // St. Paul’s Church open house & Sunday afternoon tea // Wagon rides thru Historic District // Theme-basket auction // Festival food including Sunday chicken barbecue.
