Allegany County District Attorney: Grand Jury indicts Bolivar woman after stabbing two NY State Troopers

Defendant’s Name:  Julia C. Groff

Address:  Bolivar, New York       

Charges:      Attempted Murder of a Police Officer (2 counts);
Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer (2 counts);
Menacing a Police Officer (2 counts);
Grand Larceny 4th;Resisting Arrest;
Obstruction of Governmental Administration 2nd;
Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th;       

Court Appearance Date:  June 18, 2025

Proceedings:  An Allegany County grand jury has indicted Julia C. Groff on ten (10) total counts, including two (2) top counts of Attempted Murder of a Police Officer.  This indictment follows the widely publicized incident in Bolivar that occurred on May 17th, which resulted in two New York State Troopers sustaining stab wounds.  Groff continues to be remanded to the Allegany County Jail without bail and will be arraigned on this indictment in Allegany County Court on Wednesday, June 25th.
