The Allegany County Blind Association will be hosting an Information Fair on Monday, June 9th at the American Legion on Jefferson Street, from 10 a.m.-12 pm.   There will be 16 vendors available, ranging from Dr. John Rundquist from the WNY Center for the Visually Impaired, NYS Commission for the Blind, Pete Andolina with equipment and electronic technology to assist the visually impaired, Office for the Aging, Jones Memorial Hospital, a guide dog, Alzheimer’s Association, and many more representatives from various health care and service organizations.  Light refreshments will be available.  No registration required!

If you have low vision or know someone who is having visual problems, please stop by this event or give our office a call (585-593-2023) to learn about all the services available.  We have a variety of aids and appliances available including handheld magnifiers, talking clocks and watches, and electronic magnifiers.  Large print books and the NYS Talking Book Library are also available.  In addition, Dr. John Rundqist has a low vision clinic at our office on the first Monday of each month.  Contact us regarding an appointment for the clinic.  The office is open Tuesday & Thursday (9-1) and Wednesday (9-2).   Any NYS resident who is legally blind may be eligible for services provided by the NYS Commission for the Blind.  PA residents may also be seen in our office and receive services through the PA Commission.

We provide information and referrals by networking with other agencies in Allegany County and can help to find the right Agency for your specific needs.  Please stop in and see us or see us at the Information Fair on June 9th!
