Budget, new busses, and the David A. Howe Library all get overwhelming approval

The polls are closed and the results have been officially announced by the Wellsville Central School District.
The Wellsville school board will have a new member after a successful campaign by Joseph Hart, a 1987 graduate, received the most votes, 298 to be exact.
Steve Pettenati received 297 votes, being re-elected for a fourth term. He told us a few days ago why he was anxious to continue his service to the school district:
“I want to support our educators, encourage transparency, and prioritize the well-being of all students“

New member Joseph Hart received 298 votes in his first run for public office, edging out incumbent Shane Vogel who received 172 votes. Hart explained why he was running before the elections:

” I am dedicated to the continued viability of the Wellsville schools and want to ensure that the future of education in Wellsville thrives. I believe in open, honest, respectable discourse, and investigating all possibilities.

The 2025-26 budget was approved by a healthy margin as well as voter approval for purchasing two new school buses. The funding for the David A. Howe Library was also approved by a wide margin. Official tallies from Wellsville Central School District:
