The Wellsville Central School District is pleased to announce the tentative appointment of Jaime McLaughlin and Shelley Chaffee as co-coaches of the Varsity Softball team. Accompanying them will be Rod Perry, who will continue his role as Assistant Coach.
Bringing a wealth of experience and a sterling track record, Jaime and Shelley are committed to fostering healthy competition and promoting sportsmanship within the team. Together, they boast an impressive 40-plus years of combined teaching and softball expertise.
Shelley played on the WHS Varsity softball team from 1978 to 1982 and then continued her playing career at Buffalo State College for an additional two years. Recognized for her outstanding contributions, Shelley is a member of both the Wellsville Sports Hall of Fame and the Allegany County Hall of Fame.
Jaime played on the WHS Varsity softball team from 1991 to 1995 and then continued her playing career at Gannon University from 1996 to 1999. Recognized for her outstanding contributions, Jaime is a member of both the Wellsville Sports Hall of Fame and the Gannon University Athletics Hall of Fame for Softball. Jaime has previous coaching experience with the Wellsville JV Softball and JV Girls Soccer teams, as well as the Alfred University Women’s Softball and Soccer programs.With their seasoned leadership at the helm, the Wellsville softball team is poised for continued success on and off the field. Their competence and positivity are sure to inspire the athletes.
