WELLSVILLE, NY – Today, Rep. Tom Reed was proud to announce $13,000 in Department of Transportation grants for Wellsville Municipal Airport, also known as Tarantine Field.

“We care about making sure our airports, like Wellsville Municipal Airport, have fair access to the funds they need,” said Rep. Tom Reed. “Our air travel industry is critical to the local economy and we must continue to maintain its capacity. We were proud to fight for this funding and will continue to work to secure additional support for our region.”

“With the significant loss of Avgas, Jet fuel, and other miscellaneous sales due to the Covid-19, as well as now the unnecessary fast-rising cost of Avgas and Jet fuel, the based and outside aircraft traffic has slowed tremendously,” said Willis Shutt, Wellsville Municipal Airport Manager. “The Town of Wellsville Airport greatly appreciates the help the FAA/ the State have provide to an airport of our size.”

This funding is disbursed through the Federal Aviation Administration. For more information, visit https://www.faa.gov/.
