Margaret R. BENEDICT, 94, of Wellsville, NY, died Monday, April 19, 2021 in Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville.  

Born December 22, 1926, in Olean, she was the daughter of Theodore J. and Ruth Brandes Geffers.  On September 11, 1948, in Wellsville, she married Blaine Benedict, who predeceased her on April 15, 2014.  A 1943 graduate of Wellsville High School, she attended Emmanuel Christian Seminary, Johnson City, TN.  She was employed by Turbodyne Co., Ruth Brown Real Estate, Wellsville Daily Reporter, and retired from Butler Larkin.  Margaret was a member of Crosstown Alliance Church in Wellsville, where she served as a deaconess, Sunday school teacher, vacation bible school teacher, and Pioneer Girls leader. Margaret enjoyed collecting seashells, jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, playing board games, coloring, camping, and crocheting beautiful doilies. She and her husband resided in Bradenton, FL for many years after their retirement.  

Surviving are:  two sons, James Alan (Terry) Benedict of New Bern, NC and Blaine David (Linda) Benedict of Ellenton, FL;  five grandchildren, Joshua David (Jessica) Benedict, Glen James Benedict, Aaron Steven (Dana) Benedict, Shana Gail (Ryan) Johnson, and Jamie (Chandler) Sharpe;  ten great-grandchildren;  three sisters, Nancy (Glenn) Schaefer of Redding, CA, Joanne Wilkins of Wellsville, and Janet (Robert) Pearse of Fort Mill, SC;  nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband of 66 years, she was predeceased by three brothers, E. Forrest Geffers, Dale C. Geffers, and Donald T. Geffers;  and a sister, Betty Jean Geffers.  

A private graveside service will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellsville.
