WELLSVILLE, N.Y. — The Wellsville Creative Arts Center will celebrate the official grand opening of Scotty’s Common Table Café on Wednesday, July 15, during the Center’s weekly Wednesday Night Open Mic from 6 to 9 p.m. This event marks its formal introduction to the community and the beginning of a new chapter for the space.
Owned and operated by Scott and Michelle Rickicki, the café reflects the couple’s long‑standing roots in Allegany County and their shared love of family, homesteading, cooking, and creativity. Scott brings more than 36 years of experience in the food service industry, including restaurant management and supervisory work at Great Lakes Cheese. Michelle is a 20‑year tenured teacher, Curriculum Coordinator, and professional development facilitator, with additional experience in furniture sales and home decorating. Together, they have created a café that blends culinary skill, educational insight, and heartfelt hospitality.

Their journey began with the launch of their food trailer business in June 2024, and expanding into a permanent location at the Wellsville Creative Arts Center “felt like a natural fit,” they said. The café quickly became a favorite gathering place. Early visitors have praised the menu and atmosphere, with Danny Sherwood noting, “All the food is great and I give it five stars.” Regular customer Kim Shackley added, “When I come in, I say ‘give me the best you got,’ and they haven’t failed me yet.” Longtime community members George and Micela Hubler shared, “So glad the café is open again. The menu is creative and the food is delicious.”
The Rickickis’ mission is simple: Good Coffee, Good Food, Good Company. “Our passion lies in creating a welcoming space where people from all walks of life can gather around a common table, enjoy good coffee, good food, and meaningful conversation,” Scott and Michelle said. “We believe there is something transformative about sitting down together with coffee, sharing stories, and strengthening community connections.”
A New Dimension: The Art of Coffee
As the café continues to grow, it has added a new layer to its identity through the expertise of Levi Peacock, who recently joined the team as barista and espresso specialist. Levi, who grew up in Allegany County, spent several years in Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh’s vibrant coffee culture—home to more than 100 shops—became the backdrop for Levi’s nearly six years of barista experience, spanning both national chains and small independent cafés.
Now back in Allegany County, Levi has curated a new espresso menu for Scotty’s Common Table Café, drawing on traditional Italian techniques and the creativity that defines modern coffee culture. Their approach emphasizes curiosity and connection, encouraging customers to ask questions, explore new flavors, and support local businesses.
Founder of the Wellsville Creative Arts Center, Andy Glanzman, expressed his enthusiasm for the café’s official launch. “I’m excited to have Scotty and Michele bring their talents to the Wellsville Creative Arts Center Café. I will be one of their best customers. And I think Levi made the best cappuccino I ever had,” he said.
Levi says they are proud to bring their commitment to quality and creativity to the café and to work alongside Scott and Michelle as the business continues to evolve.
