Joseph C. ZAJICEK, 90, of Belmont, NY, died Sunday, July 5, 2026, in Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville.
Born February 28, 1936, in Manhattan, NY, he was the son of Joseph W. and Marie Sochor Zajicek.
He was a graduate of Bayside High School, Bayside, NY. On January 4, 1958, in New Milford, CT, he married the former Charlotte “Tink” Hall, who predeceased him on October 19, 2024.
Joe was employed as a warehouse supervisor by Nestlé Co. in New Milford, CT for 20 years. After moving to Belmont, Joe and Tink owned and operated Hannigan’s Florist in Belmont. He was also employed by Allegany County in Buildings and Grounds for 21 years. He served as an Amity Town Supervisor from 2001 – 2007.
Surviving are: four sons, Joseph W. (Christy) Zajicek of Wellsville, Robert (Sherry) Zajicek of Cuba, Thomas (Christine) Zajicek of Belmont, and Donald (Kimberly) Zajicek of Belmont; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a daughter, Tammi Linn Zajicek; and a sister, Joan Dvorak.
Private burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery, Belmont. Memorials may be made to Holy Family Church, 5 Milton Street, Belmont NY. Arrangements are under the direction of Olney-Foust & Embser Funeral Homes & Cremation, Belmont, NY.
