WELLSVILLE, NY — The Arc Allegany-Steuben is excited to invite the community to the 3rd Annual Feathered Friends Duck Derby on Friday, July 31, at 11:00 a.m. at Riverwalk Plaza in Wellsville. This family-friendly fundraiser brings together community members, local businesses, and supporters for an entertaining event that directly benefits people with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout Allegany and Steuben counties.

Join us on the bank of the Genesee River as we “Release the Quackin'” and watch more than 1,000 rubber ducks race downstream in this exciting community event. Each duck represents a community member who has chosen to support The Arc Allegany-Steuben through a duck adoption. As the ducks make their way toward the finish line, participants will have the opportunity to compete for prizes while helping fund important programs and services that empower people to live, work, and thrive in their communities.

This year’s race will award a $500 grand prize to the owner of the first-place duck, while second place will receive $250 and third place will receive $100. In addition to the race prizes, ten Lucky Ducks will be drawn to receive special raffle prizes, creating even more opportunities for participants to win.

Community members can participate by adopting ducks at several levels. A Single Duck may be adopted for $5, a Quack Pack for $25, a Quacker’s Dozen for $50, or a Flock for $100. Every duck adopted helps support the mission of The Arc Allegany-Steuben and the people and families it serves.

There are two easy ways to purchase ducks, purchase online at, https://thearcas.org/duckderby/ or stop by The Arc Allegany-Steuben offices in Bath or Wellsville. Following each purchase, participants will receive their ticket numbers by email.

The Feathered Friends Duck Derby has quickly become a favorite summer tradition, bringing together supporters of all ages for a morning of fun, community spirit, and philanthropy. Attendees are encouraged to gather along the riverbank at Riverwalk Plaza to watch the excitement unfold as the ducks make their journey downstream. Those who are unable to attend in person can still be part of the action by tuning in to a live broadcast of the race on The Arc Allegany-Steuben’s Facebook page.

Participants do not need to be present to win. Ducks will race on behalf of their adopters, and winners will be notified following the event.

The Arc Allegany-Steuben is also seeking sponsors for this year’s Duck Derby. Sponsorship opportunities provide local businesses and organizations with meaningful visibility while demonstrating their commitment to supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Sponsors play a vital role in helping make the event a success and ensuring that proceeds have the greatest possible impact.

Every duck adopted helps create opportunities, provide essential services, and strengthen community inclusion for the people served by The Arc Allegany-Steuben. Supporters are encouraged to adopt their ducks early and get ready to “Release the Quackin'” on July 31.
