To all Alfred-Almond Central School District voters,
We are writing to offer our strong recommendation for Dr. Mark Bloxsom as a candidate for the Alfred-Almond School Board. Dr. Bloxsom brings a rare combination of academic experience, military service, and deep community involvement that makes him exceptionally well-suited to serve the district.
Dr. Bloxsom is an Army veteran who served our country with distinction from 1999 to 2007, including two tours in Iraq and one in Kosovo. His background as a telecommunications specialist reflects both technical expertise and a disciplined, mission-focused mindset. These qualities continue to shape his leadership style and commitment to service.
Since 2015, Dr. Bloxsom has been a valued member of the Business Department at Alfred State College, where he teaches a wide range of business courses. His experience in higher education gives him important insight into preparing students for both college and careers, an increasingly critical priority for school districts today. He understands the skills students need to succeed beyond graduation and works to instill those competencies in his students.
Equally important is his strong connection to the Alfred-Almond community. As a parent of four children currently enrolled in the district—spanning grades 6, 8, 10, and 12—Dr. Bloxsom has a direct and ongoing investment in the quality of education, student experience, and overall well-being of the district. He understands firsthand the challenges and opportunities facing students, families, and educators.
Dr. Bloxsom is also a strong supporter of labor and values the contributions of teachers, staff, and all school employees. He recognizes that a successful school system depends on supporting those who work within it. In addition, he actively participates in and promotes outdoor and athletic activities, reinforcing the importance of well-rounded student development beyond the classroom.
In every aspect of his career and personal life, Dr. Bloxsom demonstrates dedication, integrity, and a commitment to service. We are confident that he will bring thoughtful leadership, practical experience, and a genuine passion for education to the Alfred-Almond School Board.
