Neighbors supporting Neighbors ! Programs start May 9 in Almond NY

From ACRN, Follow them on Facebook

A group of Allegany County residents is excited to introduce ACRN (“Acorn”), the Allegany County Resource Network. ACRN is a skill- and resource-sharing group started by community members across the county. Our goal is to grow a network of interested individuals in Allegany County to build a sense of community and develop local resilience, recognizing that our region is filled with varying fields of abundance and expertise as well as needs.

Following organization efforts starting in mid-2025, ACRN has now launched a website (https://acrncares.org/) and a Facebook presence (search “ACRN – Allegany County Resource Network”) to engage with the wider community. We are beginning an ongoing series of skill-share classes with multiple events monthly at locations spanning Allegany County, from a budgeting class in Almond to a chicken-keeping class in Centerville to a collage class in Friendship to a bookbinding class in Wellsville. Check out the website for a full list of May and June’s classes and also to propose future workshops. As organizing progresses, ACRN also hopes to gather and make available information on the many resources and aid in our area sometimes known only to locals.

We want ACRN to be a resource and connection point for people throughout Allegany County. Get in touch with any questions or interest (acrncares@proton.me), and follow our FB page for updates and additional resources.
