On April 14th, 2026 Morrison Hayes Unit 702 Wellsville American Legion Auxiliary was pleased to present a $2,000.00 check to Allegany County Cancer Services. Presenting the check was Unit 702 Cancer Chairperson Ann Marie Hennessy to ACCS President Debbie Marble.

Allegany County Cancer Services, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2006 that values a community-based response for residents of Allegany County, New York living with a cancer diagnosis. Our mission is to increase awareness of early, life-saving screenings and treatment and to assist Allegany County residents with transportation costs related to their ongoing cancer treatment.
Our motto is “In Allegany County – For Allegany County” All funds raised or received are dedicated to serving residents residing in Allegany County, New York. These funds do not go to a regional or national organization and have not changed since the inception of ACCS, Inc. This has all been possible because of our community that has supported us with fundraisers, donations, and memorials.
The Board of Directors are all volunteers and meet regularly during the year. The support of the community through donations and supporting fundraisers has allowed ACCS to assist many of our neighbors and continue our organization. The award amounts have increased over the years to $500/qualified applicant. Due to the increased fuel prices, as of March 1, 2022; the present Board of Directors unanimously voted to increase that amount to $600/qualified applicant.
