From the Bolivar Fire Department,

Yesterday at 09:19 (9:19 a.m.), we were dispatched to our first fire for mutual aid to Richburg in the town of Wirt. Our Chief-50 responded and arrived first on scene due to proximity and reported a fully involved single story structure. Bolivar 1 and 7 responded with limited crews due to the time of day on a weekday along with 1st Asst. Chief-501. Allentown 7 and Richburg 7 arrived first providing initial attack, with Allentown 1’s and Bolivar 1’s crews providing scene upport. Mutual aid from Clarksville and Friendship provided water supply and tanker shuttle along with Bolivar 7. All units were back in service at approximately 13:30 (1:30 p.m.) Thank you to everyone that assisted on scene!

Yesterday at 17:25 (5:25 p.m.) we were dispatched for a full response to a second structure fire in the town of Wirt. Bolivar units 1, 7 & 4 all responded within 8 minutes. Our Chief arrived on scene first, due to proximity, and reported a working structure fire in a 4 bay garage with flames showing out the roof. Bolivar 4 was placed first in due to an unforseen incident with Bolivar 7 in second for water supply while drafting from a pond right on location. B-7 supplied B-4 which provided unitial attack, while also supplying water to Allentown 1 on the back side of the structure. Many crews from multiple companies worked hard on extinguishing the fire and setting up water supply operations while some also contended with another small fire incident inside the villlage of Richburg. Good job by all. Thank you to Allentown, Portville, Friendship, Clarksville, Westons Mills, Wellsville, Shinglehouse, and any other mutual aid companies and personnel that assisted on scene. All Bolivar units were back in service at approximately 23:45 (11:45 p.m.)
