Larry R. Sell – 82 – of Hornell died late Friday evening (March 27, 2026) at his home, following a brief illness.

Born in Allentown, Pa on January 28, 1944, he was the son of Warren & Joyce (Frederick) Sell.

Larry grew up in Allentown and was a graduate of William Allen High School (class of 1961).  He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Art Education from Kutztown State College (now Kutztown University) and later earned his Master’s Degree in Ceramics from Alfred University.

While living in Allentown, he was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church.  He has resided in Hornell for the past 30 years.

For most of his adult life, Larry was a self-employed dealer of fine collectables, buying & selling all kinds of collectables throughout the country.  He was an avid reader and especially enjoyed books & articles on history.

Surviving are his longtime companion, Melissa Horn of Hornell; 1 sister, Sandra Huzar of Allentown; 1 brother, Timothy (Patricia) Sell of Shoemakersville, PA; along with nieces, nephews, great-nieces & great-nephews.  He will also be missed by his dear friends, Leroy & Pam Teator of Hornell.

At Larry’s request there will be no calling hours.  Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Dagon Funeral Home, 38 Church St., Hornell, NY.

Larry’s family request that I lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name be made to the Alfred University Food Pantry, 1 Saxton Dr., Alfred, NY 14802.
