Raymond Kaufman of Wayland NY was wanted for failing to register as a sex offender in NY and Utah

Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on March 18, 2026, Deputies of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Raymond K. Kaufman, age 63, of CR 36, Wayland, New York following a joint investigation with United States Marshalls. It is alleged that Mr. Kaufman is wanted by the West Valley City Police Department in Utah for failing to register as a sex offender. It is further alleged that Mr. Kaufman failed to register in Steuben County as a sex offender. Mr. Kaufman is charged as a Fugitive From Justice in Utah and in Violation of Sex Offender Registry Requirements in the State of New York. Mr. Kaufman was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and held for extradition.
