The PCS Drama Club invites the community to experience a magical evening of music, laughter, and fairytale wonder with its upcoming production of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella: Enchanted Edition. Performances will take place in the Portville Central School Auditorium on Friday, March 27 at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, March 28 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Featuring more than 100 students in grades 2 through 12, this large-scale production showcases the remarkable talents of PCS students both on stage and behind the scenes. From energetic ensemble numbers to enchanting set designs and costumes, the show highlights months of dedication, creativity, and collaboration.
The musical will run approximately two hours, including a 20-minute intermission, and will be accompanied by a live pit band, adding richness and excitement to the beloved score.
Cinderella: Enchanted Edition is a modern, whimsical adaptation of the classic Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella. Originally created for television audiences in 1997, this celebrated version starred Brandy Norwood as Cinderella and Whitney Houston as the Fairy Godmother, bringing fresh life to the timeless fairytale. The adaptation blends classic songs and storytelling with a slightly updated, contemporary spirit while maintaining the charm and magic audiences have loved for generations.
Audiences can expect familiar favorites such as “In My Own Little Corner,” “Impossible,” and “Ten Minutes Ago,” along with dazzling dance numbers, magical transformations, and a heartwarming story that reminds us that kindness, courage, and hope can change our destiny.
