Welcome the new Children’s Librarian to the David A. Howe Public Library!!
From the David A. Howe,
On Saturday, February 7, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., David A. Howe Public Library will host an event to celebrate Take Your Child to the Library Day and to welcome their new Children’s Librarian, Ashleigh Beblavy!
Miss Ashleigh joined DAHPL staff on December 17 and has hit the ground running. She hosted the library’s Noon Year’s Eve Party on December 30 and has also been leading story times with the littlest patrons and their caregivers.
If you haven’t had a chance to meet Ashleigh yet, TYCLD is the perfect opportunity to do so. It is a come-and-go event that will include crafts, a scavenger hunt, face painting by Bonnie, from Badger and Butterfly Studios, and, of course, light refreshments. Those in attendance will also have the opportunity to check out progress on the nearly-complete Youth Wing mural.
TYCLD is an international initiative, launched in 2011 by two librarians in Connecticut, that encourages families everywhere to take their children to their local library. TYCLD raises community awareness about the importance of the library in the life of a child, and promotes library services and programs for children and families.
