Yesterday, at the New York State Sheriffs’ Association’s Winter Conference in Albany, the New York State Sheriffs’ Institute held its Annual Awards Luncheon—an opportunity to recognize some of the very best work being done in sheriff’s offices across New York.

Sheriffs from around the state submitted nominees for these honors, and the award recipients were selected by a special committee. As always, the choices were difficult—because the nominations reflected so much dedication, professionalism, and courage.

Allegany County’s Deputy Casey McRae has been a court officer for years as local lawyer Marc Woltag quipped:

“Well deserved!! It’s hard to remember when you haven’t been on duty!!
