Collecting non-perishables throughout Allegany County on February 7

From Ardent Solutions,

Allegany County, NY — On Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026, Allegany County and Ardent Solutions will once again take part in the annual Souper Bowl Day of Caring, a community wide effort to collect non‑perishable food donations for local food pantries.

As in past years, one of the county’s public transit buses will be parked outside Tops Friendly Markets in Wellsville, where residents are encouraged to drop off donations throughout the day.

To make giving even more accessible, donation boxes have been placed at convenient locations across the county, including:

  • Andover Central School
  • Wellsville High School and Middle School
  • Genesee Valley Central School
  • Ardent Solutions Family Resource Center
  • Runnings (Wellsville)
  • Community Bank (Wellsville)
  • First Citizens Bank (Wellsville)
  • Allegany County Office for the Aging (Belmont)
  • The Arena Wellsville
  • The Shop on Main
  • Save-A- Lot
  • Allegany County Courthouse

Every donated can, box, and item collected helps restock the shelves of local food pantries—shelves that support families, seniors, and individuals who rely on them during difficult times. The need continues to be significant, and the generosity of community residents remains steadfast year after year.

Ardent Solutions appreciates the many people and partners whose dedication makes this event possible including: the Allegany County Board of Legislators for its continued support; Becky Nelson of Ardent Solutions, who has led the initiative locally since bringing it to the county in 2015; the Allegany County Administrative Team; Transdev for providing a driver and transportation support; Tops Friendly Markets for offering a welcoming and accessible collection site; the Andover Central School Basketball Team for assisting in the collection; and to the many food pantries and their volunteers, whose commitment to addressing hunger continues all year long.

Above all, we thank the residents of our community, whose compassion and enthusiasm are the heart of this event. The Souper Bowl Day of Caring succeeds because community members believe in taking care of one another.  As preparations for the 2026 event continue, community members are invited to participate, spread the word, and help fill the bus to support neighbors in need.

Together, we can make a meaningful difference for those facing food insecurity in our community.
