Students present engineering technology senior project posters

The IoT (Internet of Things) Project was chosen for top honors at the annual Senior poster presentation

Senior Alfred State engineering technology students ended their semester by presenting their progress on their year-long projects. They were judged on their poster presentation by members of the Industry Advisory Board (IAB) and professors in the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Technology Department.

Jacob Austin, Netfali Cruz, Samuel Dickerman, Christian Peterson, and Eric Spring with the guidance of Professor Najib Al-Fadhali took home top honors with their IoT (Internet of Things) project.

“This is such an important part of the senior project process,” commented Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Technology chair Aric Bryant. “Our advisory board members and guests provide a real-world perspective to the students. I am excited to see how the students take and use their input as they work towards completing their projects in the spring semester.”

A Geothermal Renovation project garnered second place. Guided by Professor Mohamed Eleshaky and industry partners Jim Gross and Brandon Weinblatt the team consisted of Nicholas Bonham, Vincent Lanzafame, Ryan Snyder, and Valentina Tinaj.

The team of Farhan Abdi, Alex Donnelly, Corbin Fetterman, Nicolas Hallett, Will Leahy, Nuri Sarbudak, and Joshua Sehm are working on a Marble Machine were third. They are working with Professor Alex Bailey.

Students will take input from their poster presentations and continue to work on their projects and will make their final presentations prior to graduation in May.
