Matteson, Fanton honored for two decades of support

From Allegany County Town Highway Association,

On December 2, 2025, the Allegany County Town Highway Association proudly held its 20th Annual Action Angels Toy Drive at the Belfast Municipal Building, continuing our commitment to supporting families throughout Allegany County during the holiday season.

All donations from the event were given to ACCORD’s Community Action Angels Holiday Gift Program. According to Belinda Knight, Director of ACCORD’s Community Operations Division, this annual event provides more than half of all items the program distributes each year. Last year alone, the program helped bring Christmas to 335 children across Allegany County.

This year’s drive once again demonstrated the overwhelming generosity of our members, community supporters, and especially our vendors, who contributed a significant portion of the toys, gift certificates, and monetary donations. In total, the event collected a large assortment of gifts along with over $1,000 in financial contributions, helping to ensure a brighter Christmas for children throughout the county.

During our Christmas meeting, we also recognized two individuals for their outstanding dedication and service:

  • Brian Matteson, Town of Willing, received an engraved KA-BAR knife for his 19 years of service on the Executive Committee, as well as an engraved clock to honor his 20 years of service to the Town of Willing upon his retirement.
  • Dwight Fanton, Allegany County Legislator, was presented with an engraved clock in recognition of his 20 years of continuous support to the Association.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our vendors, members, and all who donated, participated, and volunteered to make the 20th Annual Action Angels Toy Drive a tremendous success. Your generosity continues to brighten the holiday season for children throughout Allegany County.

Thank you for your continued support.

Warm regards,
Allegany County Town Highway Association
