Gallery: Wellsville’s Fletcher Kay drives on Geneseo’s Bentley Maloney in the season opener
The Wellsville boys’ and girls’ basketball teams opened the 2025-2026 season on Tuesday night against Geneseo. The boys were home, the girls were on the road.
The boys lost, 67-34 to Geneseo.
Geneseo had a big game from Oren Ray who had 19 points, seven steals, five assists and five rebounds
For Wellsville, Cole Densmore drained a 3-pointer had 13 points and eight rebounds. Blake Kalkhof also had 13 points and a 3-pointer. Cole White and Nick Germaine-Tardieu each scored four points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Wellsville opened the season on the road Tuesday night, falling to Geneseo, 57-36.
Caelyn Stevens scored a game-high 11 points with four steals and three assists for Wellsville. Alexa Hennessy had five rebounds, Addison Hennessy had five points and Jaden Dunbar had seven points and five rebounds. Emily Stuck had six points and Raegan Vogel scored four points. Reegan Perkins had a 3-pointer and Hailey Cowburn had two points.

Olivia Bucci had a game-high 17 points for Geneseo.
