Artist Statement — Casey O’Connor

The time has come,” the Walrus said,
To talk of many things:
Of shoes — and ships — and sealing-wax —
Of cabbages — and kings —
And why the sea is boiling hot —
And whether pigs have wings.”
Lewis Carroll

This iconic passage from Lewis Carroll mirrors the spirit of my work: a boundless curiosity about the absurd, the ordinary, and the extraordinary existing side by side. My practice explores the intersections between imagination and reality, questioning what we accept as normal and what possibilities lie just beyond our expectations. Through playful symbolism, layered materials, and open-ended storytelling, I invite viewers to rediscover the world with fresh wonder—where anything, even pigs with wings, might just be possible.
