What kinda of superpower is “Omnilingualism?”

This week’s associate spotlight shines on Brooke Yetman, Lead Blood Bank Medical Laboratory Scientist in the lab for the past 6.5 years.

“Brooke is an exceptional Lead Technologist in our Blood Bank department. She is a resource for all Techs, Nurses and Providers when it comes to all Blood Bank procedures. Brooke steps up to assist any where help is needed, even volunteering for 3rd shifts without even being asked. Brookes commitment and knowledge has been evident with no findings for Blood bank in our NYS DOH and TJC inspections this year. Brooke leads by example and is an asset to our lab family.” – Elaine Austin, Lab Director

What is your favorite part of working at Jones?

Brooke: I met my wife when I came back to Jones in 2019 (we didn’t know it then). I enjoy working with all the unique individuals that make up our laboratory. We all work tirelessly behind the scenes of patient care. The work that we put in for our patients, our inspections, and each other does not go without notice. We impact hundreds of patients lives daily by providing their physicians with reliable accurate results to improve the quality of their life.

What’s the best piece of advice you have ever received/ what’s your favorite quote?

Brooke: When I was in my third year of college at the University of Buffalo and had a string of adversities come my way. On one of my visits home my mom handed me a bracelet that read “Let your faith be bigger than your fears.” Now, to this day that has been my anchor.

What is my favorite hobby?

Brooke: Besides hanging out with my boys, I love to play fantasy football.

What’s your dream vacation?

Brooke: I would love to travel to the Maldives.

If you could meet one famous person, alive, or dead, who would it be and why?

Brooke: I would be honored to meet Alecia Moore a.k.a the singer/songwriter P!nk. I absolutely adore her songs and what she embodies. She is strong, powerful, authentic human. She is always a beaming proud mother in the midst of chaos.

If you could have one superpower what would it be?

Brooke: Omnilingualism: The power to speak, understand and decipher any and all languages.

Brooke: “This podcast will kill you” on spotify

Best tv show you would recommend?

Brooke: ER – it is a classic and the medicine is fairly accurate.
