NEW YORK – Donald Trump’s “top ally in Congress” Elise Stefanik, as usual, just did exactly what her boss wanted. This time on the Epstein files – and only after he gave her permission by saying it was okay to do so.
It’s important to remember two things:
- If we’re talking a “dog that hasn’t barked” – even after today’s vote, Stefanik remains silent on the Epstein files. She still hasn’t said one word to hold Donald Trump accountable for his ties to a convicted sexual predator… or anything else for that matter.
- Stefanik voted to block the files’ release before. Why? Maybe, because she herself called clear evidence of Trump and Epstein’s connections a “sick made up hoax.”
In response to the House of Representatives voting to release the Epstein files, New York State Democratic Party Spokesperson Addison Dick released the following statement:
“Elise Stefanik proves every day that she’s right to call herself Donald Trump’s ‘top ally in Congress’ – especially after spending months protecting pedophiles until Trump gave her permission to vote a certain way. New Yorkers aren’t fooled by what’s happening here, from Stefanik calling Trump-Epstein evidence a ‘sick made up hoax’ to putting her fealty to Trump over holding criminals accountable.”
REMINDER: Stefanik spent months preventing the release of the Epstein files and voted to block their release.
- Stefanik voted in July to block the Epstein files from being released.
- Stefanik declined to sign a discharge petition calling a vote to release the Epstein files.
- Stefanik, like the rest of Trump’s lapdogs in Congress, has “tried to divert attention to other subjects.”
- Stefanik called Trump’s birthday letter to Epstein a “sick made up hoax.”

- “[Stefanik’s] office did not answer an inquiry from the Washington Examiner asking if she would call to release the [Epstein] files.”
- Stefanik’s own constituents called on her to “unseal the Epstein files!” and booed her off stage during a “rare public appearance” in her district earlier this year.
- Her constituents also pooled together money for a billboard calling her out for covering up Trump’s Epstein scandal.
And it’s not just Stefanik who is covering for Trump – her GOP primary rival Bruce Blakeman claimed “nobody cares” about Trump’s Epstein scandal.
Blakeman: “All they want to ask [Trump] about is the stupid Epstein list. Nobody cares about the Epstein list except Democrats… Stop worrying about the Epstein list.”
Politico: “‘NOBODY CARES ABOUT EPSTEIN LIST’: Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman — a potential Republican gubernatorial candidate next year — said Thursday that no one cares about the so-called Jeffrey Epstein list.”
