Steuben County Advises SNAP Recipients on Resources Amid Federal Government Shutdown

BATH, N.Y. — The Steuben County Department of Social Services is urging residents who receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits to stay informed and connected as the ongoing federal government shutdown continues to impact essential services.

Due to the shutdown, November SNAP benefits may be delayed or not issued unless the federal government restores funding or takes other action. Households will be notified by November 1, 2025, on the status of their November benefits.

Steuben County understands the deep concern and hardship this situation may cause for families, seniors, and individuals who rely on these benefits for daily essentials. County staff are committed to providing up-to-date information, guidance, and local resources to ensure no one in our community goes without help during this time.
