Step back in time on August 24 at the Alfred Farmers Market
From Kim Hannigan, Market Manager
Hear ye, hear ye! The Alfred Farmers Market steps back in time this Sunday, August 24, with the fourth annual Renaissance Faire Market. Local farmers and artisans will be setting up in front of the bandstand on the corner of Main and Saxon in Alfred, from 11:00 until 3:00. Everyone is encouraged to join in the fun and wear your grandest festive outfits of any kind.

The Faire offers something for every family member. Children can participate in a fun scavenger hunt to win treasure and learn some interesting facts about life in medieval Europe. Our Market Sprouts Club members will also be getting their second reward at the Activities Tent. Live music throughout the day will be provided by Dr. Halil Zaim, who plays traditional Turkish songs, as well as music from other Middle-eastern and European traditions. The park will be packed with vendors selling the freshest local veggies, baked goods, and artisan quality crafts. Three food trucks will be setting up to make sure that no one goes home hungry: The Old Mill, She Brews, and the Dog Doctors.
What’s the best place to be this Sunday in Alfred, NY? The AFM Renaissance Market! Bring the whole family, and meet your neighbors at the bandstand. Plan on a leisurely lunch and enjoy the music (it might be a good idea to throw a couple folding chairs into your car!) Send your children to the Activities Tent, and we will return them to you with (hopefully) courtly manners and grand titles! Huzzah!
