The pantry helps feed dozens of families in need

From ACDC,

Belmont, NY – The Allegany County Democratic Committee (ACDC) delivered bags of non-perishable food and personal care items to the Alfred Area Food Pantry at 1389 Moland Hill Road in Alfred Station. Donations were collected at the recent “Coffee with Democrats” event. This is one way the Democratic Committee lives its motto: “Serving our Community.”

The Alfred Area Food Pantry makes fresh and shelf-stable foods and toiletries available to anyone in the area who needs them. Co-Chair Laurel Buckwalter says, “Many families in our county face food insecurity. Food pantries help provide food for children and adults who can’t afford to buy it.”

Buckwalter thanks Allegany County Democrats for “helping provide for the needy.”

The Alfred Area Food Pantry feeds about 50 households monthly. It is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. You can reach them at (607) 968-0669 or online at https://www.facebook.com/alfredareafoodpantry.

The next “Coffee with Democrats” will take place in Andover on Sat., September 20, 2025. All registered Democrats and friends of the party are invited to drop in for a chat and to learn about our local initiatives. Sign up here to receive details: https://forms.gle/s6x5Zz34TRAUC7CN8
