State Line Show, the select baseball travel team, recently visited the Pennsylvania and New Jersey area for the Prospect Select Northeast World Series, coming in 4th place out of 11 and going 2-2-1.

Their first game was against Complete Game and brought a 6-4 win. While Complete Game had the first run, Dominic Cavallo and Lucas Genareo quickly cut their lead in half, sending Dom Myers and Karter Grover home respectively. In the third inning, Grover’s single sent Soren Swanson in to score, and in the bottom of the 4th Avery Potter crossed the plate on a wild pitch giving State Line a 4-1 lead. Complete Game tied things up, but Cavallo’s RBI single (sending in AJ Myers) and Grover stealing home gave the Show extra insurance runs, and they left with a 6-4 win.

In State Line’s second game, they lost 10-2 to Grit Black. The only players to cross the plate for the Show were Grover and Drew Cowburn from Genaro’s double and Swanson’s single, respectively. The two formers also split the game pitching.

Saturday’s game against the Clubhouse 14U was a 14-2 rout. All players contributed to the win including Will Chapman and Tayden Margeson. Genareo and Wyatt Neall both pitched.

Sunday afternoon, the Show played their final pool play game against the Garden State Naturals, and ended up tying them 0-0 in a close match. Dom Myers pitched the entire game.

Monday brought the semifinals game against Grit NEU, where State Line fell 7-4. NEU took a 2-0 lead by the 4th inning, when Cowburn walked home and the Show finally got on the board. In the 7th inning, Potter hit an RBI single scoring in Cavallo, and Neall’s single brought Genareo home. The former scoring in on Cowburn’s single brought the score to 7-4, but it wasn’t enough for a comeback and State Line finished in 4th place.

Swanson tirelessly caught for all five games of the tournament. His defensive efforts contributed a great deal to the team’s success in the tournament.

State Line Show will head to their next and final tournament of the season this Friday, competing in the Mid-Atlantic Championship in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
