June is Pride Month, a time to honor love, identity, courage, and community. At MMDC, Pride means more than celebration; it means standing up for inclusion and supporting causes that create safe spaces for everyone to be themselves. That’s why this June, as part of our Monthly Giving initiative, we are proud to support The Trevor Project.

The Trevor Project is the world’s largest suicide prevetion ad crisis interventio organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgener, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ+) youth. Founded in 1998, the organization has become a beacon of hope, offering 24/7 support through phone, text, and online chat to young people in need.

Why This Cause Matters

For many LGBTQ+ youth, the journey to self-acceptance can be filled with challenges – discrimination, rejection, isolation, and mental health struggles. According to The Trevor Project’s research, LGBTQ+ young people are more than four times as likely to attempt suicide compared to their peers.

And yet, affirmation saves lives. The presence of even one accepting adult can reduce the risk of suicide in LGBTQ+ youth by 40%. That’s where The Trevor Project steps in, offering not just emergency services, but ongoing programs in education, research, advocacy, and peer support that reinforce one essential truth: you are not alone.

The Power of Monthly Giving

At MMDC, our Monthly Giving program is a way for us to put our values into action. Each month, we select a nonprofit that aligns with our vision of building a more compassionate, connected world and contribute to the impactful work that these charities do.

Supporting The Trevor Project is a way for us to say: we see you, we hear you, and we stand with you. Our donation helps fund life-saving services like:

  • TrevorLifeline – a free, confidential crisis phone line for LGBTQ+ youth
  • TrevorChat & TrevorText – real-time online and text-based crisis support
  • Advocacy & Education Initiatives – promoting safe, inclusive environments in schools and communities
  • Research – providing vital data on LGBTQ+ youth mental health

How You Can Help

This Pride Month, we invite you to join us in supporting LGBTQ+ youth. Visit www.thetrevorproject.org to learn more, donate, or become a volunteer. Even the smallest gesture of support can make a life-changing difference.

Let’s celebrate Pride with real impact, empathy, and allyship.
