Sunday farmers markets in Alfred NY start June 8!!
From the AFM Team,
The Alfred Farmers Market returns for its thirteenth regular season on Sunday, June 8, with a festive celebration of families and children, The Market Sprouts Festival. The youngest market goers, the “market sprouts,” can go shopping with complimentary “Sprout Bucks,” have a balloon creature made for them, follow a story trail through the market, and plant seeds in the Activities Tent. This year, the AFM has partnered with the Alfred Box of Books Library to provide a wide range of family activities, including Mandy’s Balloon Animals.

“The Box of Books has really supported the market with excellent programming,” explains Kim Hannigan, volunteer coordinator for the market. “This year we are building on the successful Sprout Buck program from last year, hoping to encourage more families to make the market a destination for fun activities as well as the very best local foods and artisan crafts.”
More than 25 vendors are setting up in the park on the corner of Saxon Drive and Main Street, in front of the bandstand. Customers can shop from 11:00 AM until the market closes at 3:00 PM. Local favorite, Michael David will be performing for the Opening Day crowd. His content spans many genres including grunge, classic rock, country and Bluegrass.
The Old Mill Mobile returns for the season with an innovative menu reflecting the market’s seasonal produce. The Dog Doctors will also be setting up their cart, selling hotdogs and burgers with all the fixings.
The Alfred Farmers Market 2025 Season runs every Sunday, from June 8 until October 12. The Market participates in the SNAP/EBT program, as well as the Fresh Connect Program which doubles SNAP benefits, and the FMNP coupon program. Weekly information about the programming at the Market can be found on Facebook, Instagram, and at the AFM website (alfredfarmersmarket.com).
