The Wellsville Creative Arts Center is delighted to announce the arrival of Edward Kwaku Boateng as its new Studio Manager. Boateng, a Ghanaian-born sculptor and multidisciplinary artist, brings a blend of artistic innovation and leadership to the position.
Boateng’s work intricately explores themes of identity, and resilience. His creative process reflects a deep integration of traditional and contemporary techniques, drawing inspiration from cultural symbols, indigenous art forms, and modern sculptural practices. His interest in digital fabrication and ceramics adds a dynamic layer to his sculptural practice, allowing him to work across diverse mediums.
Boateng holds an impressive academic record, including a Master of Arts in Studio Art from Eastern Illinois University, where he honed his conceptual and technical approaches. He earned a Master of Science in Project Management and Management Science in Quantitative Methods from the University of the Cumberland and a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership and Governance from the University of Ghana.
Andy Glanzman, founder of the Wellsville Creative Arts Center, expressed his excitement about Boateng’s appointment: “Ed will be arriving on May 5th, and I’m so pleased to welcome him to our community. I look forward to collaborating with Ed and hope to bring some exciting new programming to the Arts Center.”
In his own words, Boateng shared, “I feel truly honored to join the Wellsville Creative Arts Center as a studio manager. It means a lot to be trusted with this role in a space that values creativity and community. I’m pleased to be part of a place where I can grow both personally and professionally, connect with people who influence my life, and contribute to something meaningful in our society. I genuinely like working for people, and I’m excited to support and uplift those around me. I look forward to contributing to the center’s mission while inspiring both emerging and established artists and explore new creative possibilities.”
