From Staff reports and DPW,
The new date will start late Saturday night at 11 p.m. on May 3 and end around 7 a.m. on Sunday, May 4.
Village officials said it will last up to eight hours.
The last power outage took place on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2024 and was expected to last 12 to 14 hours. It lasted 16 hours. Village officials talked to the Wellsville Sun about the reason for the long outage and explained why the outage on May 3 to may 4 of 2025 is needed.

In a release, the public utilities department said, “The outage is necessary to perform maintenance on the switching tower that supplies the Village with electricity.”
If there are issues to prevent the power outage on May 3, a contingency date has been scheduled for Saturday, May 10 to Sunday May 11, 2025 at the same times, 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.
If you have questions, you can contact Bradley Mattison, assistant DPW director at 585-593-1713 or Dean Arnold, the director of public works at 585-593-1712.
The village said the easiest way to know if you will be affected is to check your electric bill. If the bill comes from the Village of Wellsville Municipal Electric, you will lose power for the outage.
