The Genesee Valley Central School (GVCS) District announces the hiring of Sarah Taylor as the new Elementary Principal, effective July 1, 2025. Taylor currently serves as the district’s Director of Special Education.
Taylor began her role as Director of Special Education in December 2023. Prior to that, she worked as a school psychologist and has six years of experience serving local districts. At GVCS, she has been actively engaged with staff, students, and families to strengthen the special education program.
As elementary principal, Taylor looks forward to continuing to build strong relationships with students, staff, and families while fostering a collaborative school culture. She is committed to academic excellence, social-emotional learning, and innovative teaching strategies to help every child reach their full potential.
Genesee Valley Superintendent Dr. Brian Schmitt shared his thoughts on Taylor’s hiring: “I am excited to have Sarah become the next Elementary Principal. Her commitment to building strong, positive relationships resonated throughout her tenure. I believe that she is an excellent fit for the district.”
Taylor earned her bachelor’s degree in Child and Clinical Psychology from Alfred University and a master’s degree in School Psychology, along with a School Building Leader Certificate, from SUNY Plattsburgh. She lives in Angelica with her husband, Keegan, and their two children.
