From Adam Cyr,

Yesterday’s press release from Allison Carrow and W. Brooke Harris is complete and utter fake news. They feel that their opinions are more important than the District III voters who duly elected me as their voice.

In NYS, the removal of a legislator from office is governed by specific statutes and case law. Any removal of an elected official must adhere to the law rather than being based on the whims of one person. Every citizen should be outraged by these events and ask themselves what exactly is being hidden in our local government that they pull out all stops to silence me? Ever since I announced my candidacy for County Treasurer, I have been continually attacked and slandered by the very people who are entrusted to uphold the laws of our county.

The County Attorney and Chairman of the Board have decided that they can play the role of a Supreme Court Justice because they feel like it. Public Officer Law Section 36 states very clearly that “an application for such removal may be made by any citizen resident” or “by the district attorney and shall be made to the appellate division of the Supreme Court held within the judicial development” and “such application shall be made upon notice to such officer of not less than eight days.”

W. Brooke Harris and Allison Carrow cannot simply declare me removed! There must be formal proceedings initiated which include investigations and hearings. From the very beginning I have exposed corruption, lies and just how “dirty the good ole boys club” is in Allegany County.

I am still a Legislator for District III and will continue to serve as your voice. I intend to continue representing you and it has been my honor and pleasure to as I have since January 1, 2022.
