David W. Brewer, 72 of Hornell, NY, passed away on Sunday (January 26, 2025) at Updykes Willow Ridge in Hornell.
Born in Hornell on January 19, 1953, David was the son of Marion L. and Sarah B. (Smith) Brewer of Hornell. He was a 1971 graduate of Hornell High School, residing here his entire life. After graduation, David was employed for several years at North Main Lumber in Hornell, and later worked at GST BOCES in Hornell, as head of maintenance, until his retirement in 2005.
Besides his parents, David was predeceased by his brothers: Marion L. Brewer Jr., (Marilyn) of Hornell, and James Brewer of Avon; his sisters Patricia (Keith) Palmiter of Alfred, Norma Hurd of TN and Joan Sawinski of Hammondsport.
He is survived by his son, Arron (Chrissy) Brewer and his granddaughter Lilly of Watertown, NY, stepson Jonathan Armeli of Winooski, VT, his former wife Deborah Thompson of Hornell, his brothers Robert (Karen) Brewer of San Angelo, TX, Randie (Darlene) Brewer of Hornell, Joseph (Linda) Brewer of Dover, DE, and Wm. Tracy (Luly) Brewer of Mexico, his sisters Suzanne (Ernie) Kelly of Dillsburg, PA, and Deanna (Donald) Cook of Hornell, brothers in law Philip Hurd of TN, and Peter Sawinski of Hammondsport, and sister in law Geraldine Brewer of Avon, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to give a heartfelt Thank You to Updykes Willow Ridge for the excellent care and attention David received for over 12 years in their care.
A Memorial Service will be held this summer at a date and time to be announced.
