From Preston Marshall for District Attorney,
Preston Marshall, of Randolph, New York, on Monday announced his bid for District Attorney of Cattaraugus County. Mr. Marshall is running on the Republican ticket.
Prior to beginning his legal career, Mr. Marshall served in the U.S. Navy on 3 nuclear submarines and achieved the rank of Chief Petty Officer prior to retirement. He is currently an Assistant Public Defender and has spent nearly 20 years in public service to Cattaraugus County.
As an Assistant District Attorney for almost 15 years, Mr. Marshall handled felony and misdemeanor cases, including jury trials, hearings, and leading the grand jury. Mr. Marshall tried numerous criminal trials as both a prosecutor and a criminal defense attorney.
Mr. Marshall is committed to the mission of community safety through crime prevention solutions and the aggressive prosecution of repeat and violent offenders. Mr. Marshall said, “Our community deserves a leader who embodies integrity, experience, and a commitment to justice. I have the tools to lead the DA’s Office in developing a strong relationship with both local law enforcement and crime victims.” He added, “I believe in transparent decision-making and building trust between our legal system and the community.”
Mr. Marshall is a member of the Cattaraugus County Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the United States Supreme Court Bar
Association, the American Legion (Post 181), and the United States Submarine Veterans (Buffalo Base).
Mr. Marshall resides with his wife, Bridget, and their four children in Randolph, New York.
