From the Wellsville YMCA,
As 2024 comes to a close, all of us here at the Wellsville YMCA, the Wellsville, Bolivar-Richburg, and Scio afterschool programs, and our Early Learning Staff, extend heartfelt gratitude to our donors, sponsors, and volunteers whose unwavering support has made this year one of extraordinary impact. Together, we have enriched the lives of hundreds of our community’s children, families, and individuals.
Over 100 young athletes participated in our youth basketball program this year, fostering teamwork, discipline, and confidence on and off the court. Our 4th annual Color Run and Healthy Kids Day brought together more than 160 community members, creating fun, fitness, and family connections. We wrapped up Wellsville signature series events with our 3rd annual golf outing fundraiser that provided participants a chance to put their problems away for one beautiful Saturday afternoon.
In addition, our 4-star New York State-accredited childcare center continued to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children, empowering parents to pursue their careers and goals with peace of mind.
Our partnership with local schools enabled us to offer summer swim lessons, equipping students with lifesaving skills and building their confidence in the water.
Our reach goes beyond Wellsville with three after-school sites in Wellsville, Scio, and Bolivar-Richburg. These locations have become hubs of learning, creativity, and mentorship, ensuring children have a safe and engaging environment after school hours. These three districts come together to offer our community one of the largest trunk-or-treat events offering safe places to get sweet treats to over 1,200 community members each year.
The close of 2024 saw our youth indoor soccer program which introduced children to the joy of teamwork and healthy competition, rounding out an exceptional year of impactful programming.
All of this to say, we are incredibly grateful for the power of our community. Your contributions have helped us not only meet the immediate needs of our community but also build a foundation for future impact for all of those around us. You’ve given our community members, no matter their age, opportunities to learn, grow and thrive, and for that we thank you.
As the holiday season approaches, we are reminded of the profound generosity and commitment of those who believe in our mission. Your support fuels our work and inspires us to dream bigger for 2025 and beyond.
